Meet the GFB Administrators

 

Principal:

Mrs. Reynolds

Mrs. Reynolds is a proud product of the Winthrop Public Schools and has dedicated her entire professional career to serving the Winthrop community. She began teaching in Winthrop in 1991 and spent 30 years as a third-grade teacher, where she developed a strong foundation in curriculum, instruction, and building meaningful relationships with students and families. Following her time in the classroom, Mrs. Reynolds was named Assistant Principal and later Principal of the William P. Gorman Fort Banks Elementary School.

Mrs. Reynolds earned her bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Boston College, where she also studied Secondary Education. She went on to earn a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Lesley College. Her academic background, combined with decades of classroom and leadership experience, informs her thoughtful and student-centered approach to school leadership.

Mrs. Reynolds believes that all students can learn and succeed when they are supported in a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. She values high expectations balanced with compassion and believes that strong relationships between students, staff, and families are the foundation of a successful school community. As an instructional leader, Mrs. Reynolds is committed to continuous improvement, collaboration, and providing opportunities that support the academic, social, and emotional growth of every child.

Mrs. Reynolds and her husband live in Winthrop, where they raised their two adult children, both of whom attended the William P. Gorman Fort Banks Elementary School.

Assistant Principal: 

Mr. Nimblett

Mr. Nimblett was born and raised in Winthrop and is a graduate of Winthrop High School. He was actively involved in athletics, the drama society, and other extracurricular activities, experiences that helped shape his appreciation for student engagement both inside and outside the classroom. He began his career in education in 1995, teaching and coaching in Winthrop before accepting a special education position at Valley Collaborative in Billerica, Massachusetts. While at Valley Collaborative, Mr. Nimblett served as a special education teacher, site coordinator, and IEP coordinator, gaining experience supporting diverse learners and collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams.

In addition to his classroom and leadership roles, Mr. Nimblett coordinated the Outdoor Education Program at Valley Collaborative, blending experiential learning with academic and social-emotional growth. Throughout this time, he continued his commitment to coaching, working with football programs at Winthrop High School and serving as the head coach of Alvirne High School’s football program in Hudson, New Hampshire. He currently serves as the Assistant Principal at the Gorman Fort Banks School and as the JV Girls Basketball Coach at Winthrop. Mr. Nimblett holds a Master’s degree in Education and approaches his work with a strong commitment to the school community, a focus on building meaningful relationships, a collaborative approach to leadership, and high expectations for both academic growth and experiential learning.
